The Big Talker 1210 WPHT To Rebroadcast History

PHILADELPHIA (WHPT) -- The Big Talker 1210 WPHT, the flagship station of the Philadelphia Phillies, will re-broadcast Roy Halladay's post season no-hitter on Saturday, October 9th at 7PM. Halladay threw a no hitter in Game 1 of the National League Division Series against Cincinnati at Citizens Bank Park. The Phillies won, 4-0, and Halladay limited the Reds to one base runner, Jay Bruce, who walked on a 3-2 pitch with two outs in the fifth inning.

For fans who may have missed Halladay's history making no hitter, or those that just want to hear it again, WPHT and the Philadelphia Phillies will replay the game in its entirety. Halladay is the first pitcher to throw a no-hitter and a perfect game in the same season, and the first starting pitcher in postseason history to get more hits than he allowed -- he hit an RBI single in the second inning. The Phillies ace joins Don Larsen who threw a perfect game for the Yankees in Game 5 of the 1956 World Series against the Brooklyn Dodgers. That is the only other no-hitter in postseason history.

WPHT is owned and operated by CBS RADIO, one of the largest major market radio operators in the United States. A division of CBS Corporation, CBS RADIO operates 130 radio stations, the majority of which are in the nation's top 50 markets. CBS RADIO also owns and operates KYW-AM, WIP-AM, WOGL-FM and WYSP-FM in Philadelphia.
