Tesla Opening Showroom At King Of Prussia Mall

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (CBS) - If you're in the market for a new car, a unique shopping experience is on its way to Montgomery County.
Tesla Motors, the nation's leading stand-alone electric car maker, will open a storefront showroom a week from tomorrow at the King of Prussia Mall. The plan is to educate consumers in this area about the technology and the California-based company which makes battery powered-plug in cars.
There will be two cars on display but you won't be able to drive one off the showroom floor.
"It's not a traditional dealership," Tesla's Alexis Georgeson said. "And that's also wonderful because it's very much a no pressure environment. You're never going to walk into our stores and have somebody's who's pushing you to buy one of our cars."
Each one is custom made and Georgeson says buyers usually wait anywhere from three weeks to three months for their car. She says you'll be able to take one for a spin at the mall and then order your car inside the store.
