Terrell Owens Wants Second Chance With Cowboys
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- One of the most polarizing athletes to ever play in Philadelphia, wants to join the city's arch nemesis.
Terrell Owens, 41, says he's wiser and more mature and wants a second shot with the Dallas Cowboys.
"I still probably should be playing," Owens told Rich Eisen. "So for me, if an opportunity arises, then I'll entertain it. And why wouldn't I want to go back to somewhere where I know I felt at home. I know the owner. I was there with some of the guys who are still there. I loved my time in Dallas.
"A lot of people are going to factor in my age as far as why I can't play," Owens admitted. "We all know what happened when I was there and there were some things said, where I kind of may have fractured my relationship between myself and [Jason] Witten and [Tony] Romo.
For me, it's all about giving myself an opportunity."
Owens played with the Cowboys from 2006-2008. He also played for the Eagles during the 2004-05, resulting in an NFC Championship. The six-time Pro Bowl WR with over 1,000 catches, almost 16,000 yards, and 153 touchdowns in his career, was recently named as a Hall Of Fame nominee.
Nevertheless, many remember Owens more for his off-the-field antics than his on-the-field dominance.
"I'm not that same guy that I was years ago," Owens said. "For me, I respect Jerry [Jones], I respect their organization. If there was an opportunity to go back, I wouldn't want to ruffle those feathers. For me, I've become wiser as you get older."
