Temple Students Gather To Watch President Obama's Convention Speech

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - There were DNC watch parties across the region last night, when President Obama formally accepted the Democrat's nomination for president.
At Temple's Student Center, 60 students gathered to watch the President on the big screen, nodding in approval, cheering along with the delegates in Charlotte.
"I am fired up and ready to go," said Dylan Morpurgo, president of Temple's College Democrats. "The President, he has our back and that speech proved it. He talked about things that are important to every American."
Drawing some of the biggest cheers in the crowd, were references to student loans.
"I really, really appreciated the fact that he referenced a lot of people having to throw away acceptance letters because of the fact that they wouldn't be able to afford the schools in the first place. I don't think that should hold anyone back," said Danube Johnson, 20, Junior.
As the Romney campaign argues the country is not better off today, these students, key to the President's reelection say otherwise.
"The healthcare law, don't ask don't tell, how he repealed that. Everything he's been doing has been going in the right direction," said Evan, 22, Senior.
