Temple Student Creates New Summer Latte For National Coffee Company
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – One local college student is quenching the thirst of latte drinkers around the nation.
According to Temple University, barista Kelly McArdle created a new latte after her employer announced a Facebook contest for a new summer latte.
The school's website says McArdle, a junior in Temple's Department of Religion, created the Banana Boat Latte - made with coconut, banana and almond syrups – which got over 3,000 votes from Facebook fans of Saxbys.
The latte began selling in Saxbys across the nation on June 1st and McArdle also received a $250 gift card to Saxbys.
Temple's website says the new latte has been a hit.
