Temple University Football Player Arrested

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Temple University football player is under arrest, charged with kidnapping and assault.
Temple officials confirmed an incident took place between 20-year-old Owl's Defensive End Kamal Johnson of Willingboro, NJ and his girlfriend in a building just off campus called "The Edge." Officials didn't have much else to say since this is an ongoing police matter.
Johnson allegedly kidnapped and assaulted his 21-year-old girlfriend inside the apartment building.
Police say an argument between the two escalated into Johnson forcing the woman into his bedroom where he allegedly assaulted her and held the victim against her will for three hours.
The victim told police the incident happened on September 27th. Police say the victim came forward on October 4th, and the next day Johnson surrendered to police.
Owls Coach Steve Addazio refused to talk about the incident when asked during his post game press conference after the team's win Saturday against South Florida. Many students CBS3 Eyewitness News spoke to also chose to just focus on Temple's win.
Johnson is scheduled to appear before a judge on October 23rd.
