Temple Defeats La Salle 62-49 In Big 5 Action At The Palestra
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Quinton Decosey and Josh Brown scored 12 points apiece to help Temple beat LaSalle 62-49 Wednesday night.
Jaylen Bond added 10 on 5-of-7 shooting points for Temple.
The Owls (10-7, 4-2 Atlantic 10), who came in ranked No. 2 in the nation in fewest turnovers per game (9.4), committed just six.
Temple shot 53.8 percent (14 of 26) in the first half and took a 33-25 lead into the break. The Owls shot 50 percent (26 for 52) for the game.
LaSalle (5-11, 1-4) scored the first seven points of the second half to pull within one, but Temple responded with 15-2 run and led by at least nine the rest of the way.
Jordan Price, who came in as Division I's fourth leading scorer (21.9 per game), had just 11 points on 4-of-21 shooting, including 1 of 8 from 3-point range for LaSalle.
Cleon Roberts and Tony Washington led the Explorers with 16 points apiece.
