Teen Struck By Car In Bucks County On Life Support

BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) – A teenager is on life support after being struck by a car in Bucks County early Thursday morning.
The incident happened at about 7:30 a.m. along Bensalem Boulevard near Portside Drive in Bensalem.
A camouflaged book bag and red and black tennis shoe mark the spot where police say the 17-year-old was hit.
According to investigators, the Bucks County Technical High school senior, Ryan Viola of Bensalem, was walking with his younger brother to the bus stop when he was struck by a car. The impact shattered the front windshield and bent the hood of the silver Mistibushi.
Authorities say a 54-year-old woman had the green light when she hit Viola.
The teen was rushed to Aria Health Torresdale Hospital where he is now on life support.
The family's next-door neighbors did not want to talk on camera.
They say Viola is a great kid who often played basketball outside of his home with his younger brother, who's a freshman at Bucks County Technical.
A spokesperson from the school described Viola is an excellent student who one day plans to serve his country.
The driver did stop at the scene and was driving with a non-valid driver's license, according to Bensalem's Public Safety Director.
