Teen Shot, Killed In North Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A teen was shot and killed Wednesday night only blocks away from where Philadelphia police were investigating an earlier double homicide.
The latter incident happened at about 7 p.m. near 30th and Jefferson Streets in the city's Brewerytown section.
According to police, a teenage girl was shot once in the chest and stomach. The female was rushed by officers to Temple University Hospital, but she later succumbed to her injuries.
Detectives who were investigating the shooting deaths of a male and female inside an apartment on Redner Street also became involved in the shooting on Jefferson Street. At least one gun was recovered at the scene of the Jefferson Street shooting.
According to police, several men were rounded up for questioning in the Wednesday evening shooting.
It was not immediately known if the murders were connected. Both incidents remain under investigation.
