Teen Marathoner Raising Money For Sandy Victims
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Runners picked up their race material at the Pennsylvania Convention Center Saturday for Sunday's Philadelphia Marathon.
Hurricane Sandy washed away plans for the New York Marathon, causing many New Yorkers to enter Philadelphia's race.
One New York teenager, 17-year-old Andrew Nyhus, who was lucky enough to get into the Philadelphia Marathon, is running to help victims of Sandy.
Nyhus says he sees the destruction first-hand and sponsors have now signed up to root him on with all proceeds going to the Red Cross.
"I volunteered and I helped with the Red Cross in Freeport," Nyhus said, "and I realized there were people coming in and out who actually needed help and I realized there are still people who don't have power, aren't back to normal."

The Philadelphia Marathon begins at 7 a.m.
