UPPER MERION, Pa. (CBS) -- A 14-year-old girl fell eight stories to her death Tuesday night in Upper Merion.
Police say the fall at the Marquis Apartments along the 200-block of West Dekalb Pike in King of Prussia was an accident.
Allegedly, the teen had been grounded and was told to stay in her room.
Investigators say the victim tied various electrical cords and shoes laces together, tied them to a heater in her room and attempted to lower herself to the garage roof, but fell from her bedroom window around 6:30 p.m.
She was taken to Mercy Suburban Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The teen's name has not been released.
