Teen Charged After Dad Caught In Crossfire Gun Battle In Germantown Dies, 1 Sought

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police say an 18-year-old man is charged with murder after a father caught in gunfire crossfire died.

Authorities say Alsharay Ford, 25, was hit several times while stopped in his car at the intersection of Germantown and Wister Streets.

His daughter was also in the vehicle with him, but she was unharmed.

Police were on the hunt for the alleged gunmen, and they say on Thursday they located one of the males.

Officials say Jamiel Byrd was located on the 4800 block of Germantown Avenue and taken into custody around 6 a.m.

Police say he is charged with murder and other related offenses.

Investigators have identified a second suspect wanted in connection with the murder.

They identify the suspect as 19-year-old Saykou Monte and police say he is considered armed and dangerous.

There is a $20,00 reward for info leading to an arrest and conviction.
