Amber Alerts On Facebook
We begin with the latest example of Facebook using its power for good. The social networking giant will now make amber alerts available for users in the United States.
The notifications, which are issued when a child is abducted, will appear in your newsfeed once you "like" an alert page. Fifty-three pages are already up and running, one for each of the fifty states along with all U.S. territories.
Exclusive iPad Newspaper
Then ... Steve Jobs joins Rupert Murdoch to create the next generation of newspapers. The electronic newspaper dubbed 'The Daily,' will be 99-cents per edition.
It is available exclusively for the iPad and will have no web or print counterpart. Apple has reportedly hired one-hundred journalists to write for the new publication, which technology experts say could serve as a 'game-changer.'
Verizon Lands iPhone & iPad
And finally ...as if the iPhone shake-up wasn't enough, Verizon goes after the iPad. Users will now have the option to connect directly to Verizon's 3G network.
iPads with embedded Verizon chips are also on the way. No word yet on the exact release date.
