T-Shirts Sold On Wildwood Boardwalk Raise More Concerns Than Usual

WILDWOOD, N.j. - Some Wildwood residents are filing complaints about the obscene T-shirts being sold in plain view on the boardwalk.
Christopher Fox, who is the city of Wildwood boardwalk inspector, says some of the items sold in boardwalk stores have raised concern.
"Some of the concerns are some of them have foul language on them, there's innuendos of foul language or maybe pot smoking, marijuana."
But Fox says since stores have the right to sell shirts in question, the best the city can do is mandate that the worst of the shirts be sold inside the store, out of plain view from those who pass by. He says for the most part, the stores comply.
"I have complaints every year in reference to this, it's just a select group of people now that have concerns that I guess they're stepping up their complaints."
And while Fox says less stores this summer have received citations, complaints are up.
"This isn't the first year it's come up, it seems to be every year and it seems to be a lot better this year than it has been in years past."
