Suspects Sought In West Philadelphia Armed Robbery
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are searching for two suspects who forced a victim at gunpoint to withdraw money from his bank account at an ATM machine inside a convenience store.
The incident was captured on the store's surveillance cameras.
Police say the incident began at about 1 a.m. on May 24th when the suspects approached the victim at 4717 Cedar Avenue and pointed a black handgun at him demanding money.
The males took the victim's cell phone and walked him to the Sunoco gas station at 45th Street and Baltimore Avenue and attempted to withdraw money from his account at the ATM machine.
The two suspects and the victim then left the store, but returned a short time later.
This time the males forced the victim to purchase cigarettes and cigars on his credit card from the store.
The suspects then walked the victim to 46th Street where they made him lay on the ground as they fled on foot.
The first suspect is described as a black male, 5'10", 24-25 years old and approximately 160 lbs. Investigators say he had afro hair and he was wearing a black polo shirt and dark blue jeans. This suspect was armed with the handgun.
The second suspect is described as a black male, 6'2", 21-25 years old and approximately 200 lbs. He had short hair and was wearing a black hoodie and black pants with white stripes.
