PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are searching for two armed suspects in connection with a violent early morning home invasion.
The incident happened at about 3:30 a.m. inside a home in the 2100 block of N. 24th Street near Diamond in North Philadelphia.
According to investigators, two masked men forced their way into the home and pistol-whipped a teenager on the first floor of the home.
One of the suspects then went upstairs and became involved in a physical altercation with another teen.
Investigators say the teen's grandmother intervened and bit one of the suspects on the back on his arm.
A 12-year-old who was also inside the home pretended to be asleep and when he got a chance, he snuck out of the house and ran to a neighbor's house who called 911.
Investigators say the suspects made off with approximately $2,800 in cash.
So far, no arrests have been made, but police have positively identified one of the suspects as a 17-year-old.
Anyone with information is urged to call 911.
