Suspect Sought In Robbery Of Tacony Wawa

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a convenience store in Northeast Philadelphia early Monday morning.
The robbery happened at the Wawa store located in the 6400 block of Torresdale Avenue in the city's Tacony section.
According to investigators, the suspect entered the store and pretended to have a weapon. The suspect made off with $3,600 before running out of the store.
There were no reports of any injuries.
The suspect is described as a heavyset black male who was wearing a grey hoodie.
Investigators say there have been a string of robberies in the area recently, but at this time, they are uncertain if Monday's robbery was connected.
Detectives are currently reviewing the store's surveillance video. Anyone with information is urged to call 911.
