Suspect Sought In Attempted Armed Robbery Of Delaware Hotel
NEWARK, Del. (CBS) – Police in Delaware are searching for an armed suspect who attempted to rob a hotel over the weekend.
The incident happened at about 10:50 p.m. Saturday at the Howard Johnson Inn & Suites on South College Avenue in Newark.
According to investigators, the suspect entered the hotel's lobby, pointed a gun at a clerk and demanded money.
The clerk retreated into a back office and the suspect left the lobby without receiving any money.
The suspect is described as a thin, light-skinned black male, approximately 5'8" to 6'1" tall. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and a white scarf covering his face. He was also wearing white socks over his hands and had an unknown dark-colored apron or shirt draped around his waist.
