Suspect Sought In 7-Eleven Robberies Across Northeast Philadelphia, Bensalem
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police say there have been a series of gun-point robberies at convenience stores in northeast Philadelphia and in Bensalem and they need the public's help to catch the suspect.
Philadelphia police are on the look-out for a suspect they believe committed a total of 14 gun-point robberies at 7-Eleven stores in the Northeast and in Bensalem.
"Each time he comes in with his face covered. He points and gun at the store owner, telling that store owner to empty the register and leaves," said Lieutenant Ray Evers of the Philadelphia Police.
Police say the robberies began in September of 2009 and last summer, they got what they thought was a break in the case:
"We have the same male. Or a very similar male, I should say going into the 7-Eleven on Frankford Avenue. At this time he is not covered and he actually goes into the 7-Eleven and apologizes for robbing them in the past."
The most recent robbery was in December of last year.
