Suspect Injured In Police Involved Shooting In South Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS)— A police-involved shooting took place Thursday night in South Philadelphia.
Chopper 3 was over the scene at 22nd and Morris Streets.
An officer reportedly shot a 29-year-old suspect once in the arm.
The suspect led police on a chase starting at 10th and Catherine Streets just after 9 p.m.
The suspect reportedly jumped into a pizza delivery car that was already running and drove off.
As police attempted to stop the car, the suspect attempted to run over the officers.
The suspect hit three parked cars and then took off on foot.
When police eventually caught up with him they saw he was injured.
Police transported the suspect to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he is listed in stable condition.
No officers were injured in the incident.
The suspect and vehicle are now in police custody.
