Suspect In Stolen Vehicle Leads Police On High-speed Chase In Bensalem
BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) – Police in Bensalem say they've arrested a suspect who allegedly stole a car then fled from police after they caught him stealing from other vehicles in the parking lot of the Parx Casino.
On Monday, Sept. 29th, police responded to the parking lot of the casino at 2999 Street Road in Bensalem after security observed a man stealing from cars in the lot.
The suspect, who was later identified as David Breslin, reportedly entered a white Nissan Frontier with Pa. registration YXS-8810 and left the parking lot at a high rate of speed.
An officer followed the vehicle and conducted a registration check, which revealed the car had been stolen from the Wells Fargo parking lot on Sept. 27th.
After the vehicle exited the wrong way onto Richlieu Road, two officers attempted to stop the car by turning on their lights and sirens.
The vehicle failed to stop and continued south on Richlieu Road then over Street Road and into the parking lot of Faust Elementary School.
Breslin was taken into police custody, where it was discovered he was driving on a suspended license.
In addition to stealing the car from the Wells Fargo parking lot, Breslin is also accused of committing two thefts from cars in the Parx Casino lot on Sept. 29th, two thefts from the casino on Sept. 27th and one theft from the casino on Sept. 23rd.
Breslin is charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, fleeing and alluding police, 5 counts of theft by auto and receiving stolen property, and numerous traffic offenses.
