Suspect Hospitalized After North Philadelphia Police Involved Shooting
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are investigating an officer involved shooting that took place in north Philadelphia Friday evening.
According to police, during a traffic stop near 16th and Dauphin Streets just before 9 p.m., two men exited the vehicle fled on foot.
The officer gave chase and opened fire on one of the suspects after he displayed a weapon.
Police say the suspect was shot three times. He was transported to Temple University Hospital in unknown condition.
The other suspect was captured in the 2300 block of Carlisle Street.
It is unclear why the two men initially fled the vehicle during the traffic stop.
This incident is under police investigation.
