Suspect Fatally Shot By Officer During Struggle In Chester

CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) – A police officer fatally shot a suspect during a struggle in Delaware County early Wednesday morning.
The deadly incident happened at about 12:30 a.m. in the 2000 block of Congress Street in Chester.
According to investigators, an officer was pursuing the suspect and got involved in a struggle with the suspect when he caught up to him.
Authorities say during the struggle, the suspect attempted to grab the officer's gun. The officer was able to gain control of his weapon and was forced to shoot the suspect.
The unidentified suspect was taken to Crozer-Chester Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The officer was not seriously injured during the struggle.
It was not immediately known why the officer was pursuing the suspect in the first place.
The deadly incident remains under investigation.
