Suspect Arrested In Connection With Two Robberies On The Same Night
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police have arrested a man wanted for robberies in the Sharswood and Logan neighborhoods.
On May 25th at 2:30 a.m., police say a suspect entered the New Nam Chang restaurant at 2136 West Oxford Street and punched a worker in the side of the head with what appeared to be brass knuckles before stealing cash from the victim's pockets. The suspect then fled with another suspect across 22nd Street and got into a white or silver car.
The victim suffered multiple injuries, including a broken nose, orbital socket, nasal passage and lacerations.
A bit later on May 25th, the suspect was involved in a second robbery at 5200 Old York Road in Logan. In this case, the suspect approached the victim and swung at him while demanding money. When the victim refused, the suspect acted as though he was reaching for a gun.
Police arrived on the scene shortly thereafter and were able to apprehend the suspect, who was identified as Terrance Pettway, 25, of the 4100 block of North Reese Street in Philadelphia.
Surveillance video from the scene of the first robbery revealed Pettway's involvement in that incident.
Pettway is charged with robbery and related offenses.
