Suspect Arrested In Bryn Mawr Hit-Run That Injured Mother, Twins
BRYN MAWR, Pa. (CBS) – A suspect has been arrested in connection with a hit and run that injured a mother and her five-year-old twins in Montgomery County late last month.
Police say 27-year-old Stephen John Groch is facing numerous charges relating to the incident that happened at about 1:30 p.m. on April 25th.
According to investigators, a 46-year-old woman and her five-year-old twins were crossing Lancaster Avenue at Bryn Mawr Avenue when they were struck by a pickup truck. The driver of the truck then fled the scene.
After a thorough investigation, police were able to issue an arrest warrant and Groch was taken into custody by the Lower Merion Police Department.
Groch, of Havertown, is facing charges of Accidents Involving Death or Physical injury, Duty to Give Information and Render Aid and Traffic Control Signals.
All three victims were taken to Bryn Mawr Hospital for treatment of their injuries. One of the children sustained serious injuries, which consisted of a skull fracture and fractures to the left hip and pelvis. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was transferred to the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware, but has since been released.
