Suspect Arrested For Murder Allegedly Witnessed By Slain Grocery Store Employee
UPPER DARBY, Pa. (CBS) – Philadelphia Police have announced the arrest of a suspect who has connections to a recent murder.
Police say 23-year-old Jorge Aldea was found in Bronx, New York and taken into custody after a lengthy manhunt that involved Philadelphia and New York FBI agents.
Aldea is charged with the November 25th murder of Luis Chevere on the 100 block of West Westmoreland Street. (see related story)
West Kensington store clerk Reyna Aguirre Alonso witnessed Chevere's murder, and after cooperating with police was killed inside the Caribe Mini Market in the 3300 block of Mutter Street last Monday.
Alonso's family questions whether her cooperation with police may have played a role in her death.
That incident remains under police investigation.
Authorities have not commented on any connections between the two murders.
