Suspects Sought In String Of Armed Robberies In Philadelphia, Bucks County

By Elizabeth Hur

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police in Philadelphia and Bucks County are searching for at least two suspects wanted in a string of armed robberies.

The thieves hit a Target and a McDonald's on the Roosevelt Boulevard as well as a TD Bank on Street Road in Upper Southampton, Bucks County.

"They're fearless. They're direct and they know what they're doing," explained Lt. Dennis Rosenbaum with the Philadelphia Police Department.

According to police, on April 19th and May 12th, there were two commercial gun point robberies in the 7th District that appear to have been committed by the same offenders.

Police believe a third robbery involving the same offenders occurred on May 13th at the TD Bank located at 1110 Street Road in Upper Southampton Township (See Previous Story).

Rosenbaum noted, "In all three of the jobs, they seem to have fake beards, what appeared to be fake beards."

On Saturday, April 19th, at 10:13 pm, three unknown black males exited the men's restroom of Target located at 11000 Roosevelt Boulevard after closing the store at 10:00 pm and were demanding money from the store's safe. When the suspects were told that the safe could not be opened, they forced the store's employees at gun point to stand in one area. The suspect then forced an employee to open the cash registers taking money from the drawers and placing the money into a dark colored backpack that was held by another suspect.

After taking approximately $10,000 to $30,000 in cash, the suspects fled the store on foot and were last seen towards Haldeman Manor Apartments located on the 10000 block of Haldeman Avenue. There were no reported injuries to Target personnel.

Suspect Description: Suspect #1: Black male, 5'5", dark complexion, wearing glasses, black hooded sweatshirt with "make the dream real" on the front, gray pants, army green sneakers, and armed a handgun. Suspect #2: Black male, light brown complexion, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark colored backpack, dark colored pants, and white/gray Air Max sneakers. This suspect changed his gray sweatshirt to a red hooded sweatshirt. Suspect #3: Black male, dark brown complexion, wearing a dark colored hat, gray hooded sweatshirt with white and red writing, and gray pants.

Then on May 12th, at 10:35 pm, 7th District officers responded to a radio call for a robbery at McDonald's located at 9996 Roosevelt Boulevard. When police arrived they spoke to employees who stated two unknown black males entered the restaurant armed with a handgun. One of the suspects, armed with the handgun, forced two employees to a back office taking an undetermined amount of cash from a safe while the second suspect then went to a cash register at the drive- thru window forcing the employee to open the register taking money from the drawer. The suspects then forced the employees into an office and fled the restaurant through a side door and were last seen south through the parking lot toward Hillspach Street and Sandy Road.

Suspect Description: Suspect #1: Black male, 5'6", 125 lbs., beard, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses, and armed with a handgun. Suspect #2: Black male, 6'3"-6'4", 220 lbs, beard, wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt.

"Nobody was hurt in any of these cases but we don't want it to get to the point where someone might get hurt, these guys are dangerous, they're armed and they mean business," Rosenbaum said.
