Surveillance Photos Of Missing Lambertville Woman Released To Public
By Oren Liebermann
LAMBERTVILLE, NJ (CBS) – Newly released surveillance pictures show Sarah Majoras, 39, crossing the New Hope-Lambertville bridge at 2 a.m. Saturday. She then crosses the street and makes a left on Lambert Lane towards her home. But there the trail ends.
Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns says still photos of Majoras crossing the bridge are being released to the public in the hopes that someone might remember seeing her that night.
State Police divers, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Underwater Search and Rescue Team, the Garden State Underwater Recovery Unit, and the Lambertville Rescue Squad have all assisted in the search so far. State Police divers entered the canal near Coryell Street Monday afternoon after placing sonar equipment into the water from the bridge.
On Monday, a pair of eyeglasses was recovered by police near the canal, but they do not belong to Majoras.
"Everyday, we're just out there looking for her and waiting for her," said Patty Gabriel, the manager at John & Pete's, where Majoras was a bartender.
"We're definitely not giving up any hope," said Joe Ujj, a volunteer coordinator. "We're finding clues, we're in touch with police. It comes through me, and then I send it off to them."
Teams of volunteers fanned out across Lambertville to help police search, using maps and teams to methodically scour the area. About 160 people turned out on Tuesday.
"I've cleared my schedule until we find her," said Tim Nayfield.
Many, like Nayfield, have a personal connection to the New Hope bartender, who had friends on both sides of the river.
"I run the open mic nights and used to work with her. She's one of my good, good friends," said Nayfield as he fought back tears.
As the end of another day of searching nears with no results, search teams say they refuse to give up the hope that they will find their friend.
Sarah Majoras is described as 5-feet-4 and weighing 140 pounds. She has blue eyes and blonde hair and was last seen wearing blue jeans, brown leather boots, a white cap and a camouflage jacket.
While there is no evidence of foul play at this time, all scenarios are being considered.
