Superstorm Sandy: One Year Later

It's been one year since Superstorm Sandy, the deadliest and most destructive hurricane of 2012 and the second-costliest hurricane in United States history. Twenty-four states were affected by the storm, particularly New York and New Jersey, where homes were damaged and destroyed, power outages lasted for weeks and transit systems were shut down. Seventy-two people died in eight states, including 12 in New Jersey and two in Pennsylvania.

Even now, a year later, many areas are still recovering, but progress is being made. As the anniversary of the storm approaches, we remember...
