Study Shows Eating Avocados May Lower Bad Cholesterol
By Dr. Brian McDonough
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- There's a very interesting study which takes a look at a way to lower bad cholesterol in the body, focusing on the use of avocado as a major part of the diet.
The report states that you can lower your LDL cholesterol by eating a low-fat diet. But the fat that you're eating should be monounsaturated.
Monounsaturated fats are the best ones for you, and avocados are a very important part of that group.
According to the study, people who ate avocados had excellent results not only at lowering LDL but also at taking advantage of the fact avocado has a great deal of fiber.
Fiber is important because it helps keep you full for longer and also tends to digest slower. It also can be an additional advantage of avocado.
