Study: Kids Exposed To Air Pollution At Young Age At Higher Risk Of Hyperactivity
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A new study has found that children who are exposed to higher levels of traffic-related air pollution at a young age are more at risk of being hyperactive.
According to Time, the study, published in Environmental Health Perspectives, followed 576 children in the Cincinnati metro area from the time they were born until the age of seven.

Researchers split the children into two groups: those who lived in close proximity to a major highway or bus route and those who lived more than a mile away from high traffic areas.
Time says parents were asked to fill out a questionnaire about the child's behavior when they reached 7-years-old and results showed that children who were most exposed to traffic-related pollution before the age of one were more likely to have hyperactivity scores, putting them at risk of ADHD.
