New Study Suggests Dogs Can Sniff Out COVID-19
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Man's best friend has one strong snout. A new study out of Finland from BMJ Global Health suggests dogs can sniff out COVID-19.
Using skin swab samples, researchers trained four dogs to detect COVID-19 infections caused by the original strain.
Each dog sniffed skin samples from 114 people who had tested positive for the virus and from 306 who tested negative.
They were able to detect the virus with 92% accuracy.
