Students In Drexel Hill 'Skype' With Soldiers Serving In Afghanistan

DREXEL HILL, Pa. (CBS) -- Students at St. Andrews School in Drexel Hill wanted to deliver a special Christmas message Wednesday to troops serving in Afghanistan, and as KYW Newsradio's Michelle Durham reports, their presentation was unique and memorable.
The students were not going to allow a little obstacle like thousands of miles prevent them from putting on a holiday show. So they "Skyped" a unit based in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
Eighth-grader Domenica Tomasetti portrayed "Snow Miser," a character from "A Year Without A Santa Claus."
Domenica said she was thrilled to bring smiles to the troops.
"It's something that we can do for them for all they do for us."
Michael Oladosu played Heat Miser and played drums.
"I think it's very special. I really hope they enjoy it. I don't know what it's like to be away, so I really appreciate them working over there and we'll do all we can over here."
Mike Mandes was listening intently in Kandahar.
"It's great. It's really heartwarming, you know this being the first time that I've ever been away for Christmas."
He was thrilled the students would take the time to remember them.
