WOODBURY, NJ (CBS) — The storms moved in fast and whipping winds uprooted trees throughout Gloucester County, New Jersey.
Entire blocks are in the dark. Utility crews are out, and still, thousands are without power.
"It came and went with in 15 minutes it was here and gone," says one neighbor.
Wires are down throughout all of Woodbury.
At the Deptford Mall, high winds brought down trees, damaging cars parked in the lot and stranding drivers.
The storm even caused a vehicle to overturn in a collision.
On Elm Street in Woodbury, a tree was uprooted and fell right into a house, taking out part of the roof.
The trunk fell right on a Cadillac parked in the driveway, also damaging the jeep next to it. The homeowners were forced to evacuate and neighbors say they were just getting ready to sell.
"It's horrible what happened lost his car damaged his house."
The Marketing Manager at the Deptford Mall says, "Due to the recent storm, Deptford Mall received damage to the property, however, there were no injuries. We are taking safety precautions to secure all damaged areas. The mall is scheduled to open regular hours on Wednesday, June 24."
