Storm Leaves Power Outages, Flooding
By Al Novack
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The early-morning storms knocked out power and tore down trees throughout our area.
PSE&G was reporting about 11,000 outages across New Jersey, 3,400 of those in Burlington County. PECO reported only scattered outages.
Later, PSE&G said it is working to restore service to the remaining 2,000 customers who are without power due to the storm.
Police are urging drivers to use caution on the roads because of ponding and flooding in low-lying poor drainage areas.
In Burlington County, parts of Route 206 northbound and Route 30 are closed due to fallen trees and flooding.
In Montgomery County, New Second Street and Coventry Street in Cheltenham were closed due to an uprooted tree.
There was also a downed tree along Sunnyside Avenue in Lower Providence.
