Storm Essentials Flying Off Shelves As The Region Gets Ready
By Mike Dougherty
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Delaware Valley residents are buying all the essentials to prepare themselves as Hurricane Sandy approaches.
A steady flow of customers blitzed the Lowe's store on Columbus Boulevard and it seems almost everyone was there for the same items; batteries, bottled water and flash lights. Stock is dwindling on many of the high demand items and there are no generators left.
Joe from South Philadelphia has two houses to worry about. "I actually have a place down the shore, so I think I'll take this one seriously."
That's exactly what Brenda from Eastwick is doing. "I have four bags of all purpose sand. This sand is to go in front of my patio door - the water just gushes in and I don't want to clean up again."
Brenda says she and her neighbors are exhausted by these flooding storms.
