In 1972, it took a "lefty" to lift the last place Phils into a new era, and that lefty was Steve Carlton -- a superstar athlete called eccentric and intense, and the subject of a new book, Drinking Coffee with a Fork: The Story of Steve Carlton and the '72 Phillies. The book was co- written by Steve Bucci and his collaborator, Dave Brown.
