Police: Murder Suspect Taken Into Custody Following Allentown Shooting

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- A murder suspect has been taken into police custody following an incident in Allentown on Thursday.

Police say the shooting happened on the 1900 block of 17th Street.

Police say they received a call for a shooting around 10:30 a.m., and when officers arrived, they found a woman in the front of the home suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest where she was pronounced dead.

Police say 32-year-old Matthew Jensen was taken into custody in Pohatcong, New Jersey around 2:30 p.m. He will be charged with criminal homicide.

The victim's name has not yet been released.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
