NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - St. Hubert's Catholic High School for Girls is on the list of four high schools slated for closing.
The girls at St. Hubert's were dismissed around 12:45 p.m. They came through the doors, tears streaming down their faces, cell phones up to their ears, calling home and letting their parents know their school was on the list.

Most chose not to speak to reporters, but senior Casey Holland, visibly upset, talked about what it was like when they found out. "We sang the alma mater. I mean, there's a lot of tradition -- just, we're all sad. Even if it's our last year, even it's our first semester, everyone's sad."
She says she'll look back fondly on her memories of four years at the school. "There's no place like it. There's so much pride and tradition. It's crazy how much every single girl loves this school, even if you're not involved in anything you still love this school. It just hurts, it hurts a lot."
St. Hubert's has been a high school for girls for 70 years and many of the students say their moms went to school here at Cottman and Torresdale. They heard the rumors but were hoping their school could have been spared.
