St. Charles Borromeo Welcomes 37 Men Into Training For Priesthood
By Mike DeNardo
WYNNEWOOD, Pa. (CBS) -- Today was move-in day at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, in Wynnewood (Montgomery County), as several dozen men begin the path to priesthood.
Thirty-seven men from as near as Philadelphia and as far as Nebraska are beginning their six- to eight-year seminary careers at St. Charles Borromeo.
Father Sean Bransfield, dean of men in the college division, says the number of men choosing religious vocations -- flat in the recent past -- appears to be turning around.
"There are more men entering, and it seems that the trend is, we're having more and more younger men enter. We have a number of new men this year that are right out of high school," Fr. Bransfield tells KYW Newsradio.
One of those newcomers right from high school is Jared Sutsko of Harrisburg, Pa.
"The beauty of the Catholic Church really stuck out to me," Sutsko (below, left) said today, "and so, gradual prayer, just private reflection, and talking to other people, that's when I really, finally accepted that I feel God is calling me to be a priest."

And for Sutsko, this is day one.
