Spy And Terrorism Exhibit Opens At Constituton Center
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A new exhibit opening today at the National Constitution Center examines the history of terrorism in the United States and asks some serious questions about its prevention.
Although there were guys in trench coats and sunglasses hanging around -- and the theme from a popular spy movie playing -- Spies, Traitors and Saboteurs at the National Constitution Center is treated as a very serious matter, beginning with the burning down of the White House in 1814, through the events of 9/11.
"At every part of the exhibit we ask our visitors to answer really tough questions about whether the government is doing enough to stop certain kinds of activities, or are they doing too much?" president and CEO David Eisner said.
The exhibit, created by the International Spy Museum, also includes a number of poignant artifacts, including a shoe recovered from the Oklahoma city bombing and a fragment of a New York city police car from 9/11.
