Sportsman's Paradise At Outdoor Show In Harrisburg

HARRISBURG (CBS) - Everything you'll need for the outdoors will be indoors when the Annual Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show opens Saturday for an eight-day run in the Harrisburg Farm Show Arena.

It is the largest and longest running show of its kind in North America and it's marking its 56th year in Harrisburg.

Chris O'Hara, event director, says it's truly a sportsman's paradise, "It's got everything for hunting, fishing, outdoors. If you want to take a hunting trip, fishing trip somewhere, you want to see gear, tackle, equipment, boats, tree stands, guns, bows - you name it, it's here."

O'Hara says thousands come from nearby states to see the latest hunting and fishing gear, take part in seminars, and meet the all-star players of the fishing and hunting world.

He says the show also is a family-oriented affair with lots of hands-on things for youngsters to do this year including a trout pond, casting events and a fishing simulator.

The show runs through February 13th.
