Sports: Phillies On Verge of Their 100th Sellout
The Phillies tomorrow are expected to sell out their 100th consecutive game.
KYW's Mike DeNardo reports it's 100 games in a row where the sign at the ticket window read, "Sold Out."
John Weber is the team's VP of ticketing:
"We really view it as a milestone for our fans -- the support that they've given us really ever since we've moved into Citizens Bank Park. But clearly this past year and a half, to sell out 100 games in a row is a real tribute to our fans, to their loyalty and to their passion."
The current baseball record-holder, the Boston Red Sox, have sold out 608 games in a row, dating back to 2003.
And 100 is not even the record for Philadelphia pro sports. The Flyers sold out 332 consecutive games at the Spectrum in the '70s.
