South Philadelphia Specialty Foods Store To Give Away Free Pita On First Friday
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – If you're sick of turkey by the time First Friday rolls around, a South Philadelphia specialty foods store has the remedy.
Bitar's, located on Federal Street, will be giving away free bags of pita bread to anyone who stops into the store between noon to 7 p.m.
"We're giving away free 'dough' for the holidays as our way of saying thanks Philadelphia for the decades of support. Pita bread is shared daily at our family's dinner table and we want to share it with our extended family," said Amin Bitar in a release.
The "free dough" is in celebration of the Middle Eastern specialty foods store's new hummus flavors, which include kalamata and jalapeno.
Bitar's is giving out the pita to each family that stops in, and no purchase is necessary.
