PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A 25-year-old man was fatally shot in South Philadelphia after three suspects fired more than 40 shots just off Broad Street on Wednesday night, police said. 

The shooting happened on the 1500 block of Snyder Avenue at around 7 p.m., according to police. 

Police said the 25-year-old man was shot multiple times throughout his body and pronounced dead on the scene at 7:08 p.m. 

According to police, the three suspects jumped out of a sedan and began firing shots. They then stood over the 25-year-old and shot him while he was on the ground. 

Police believe the 25-year-old was targeted. They're reviewing surveillance cameras in the area of the shooting. 

So far, no arrests have been made and no weapons were recovered, according to police.
