South Jersey Autism School Begins Relocation And Expansion Project

MOUNT LAUREL, NJ (CBS) -- Construction is underway in Mount Laurel on a new main campus for the Bancroft School, which has been providing help for those with autism for more than a century.
Half a dozen students left their hand prints in cement to mark the start of the $75 million expansion, which goes far beyond bricks and mortar. Bancroft CEO Toni Pergolin.
"We serve a very distinct population that has different needs," Bancroft CEO Toni Pergolin told KYW Newsradio. "and we're able to build an environment that will help them learn and grow in ways they could never do on the Haddonfield campus."
The new facility will be housed on four times the land now in use, accommodating more autistic students, on-site residents and employees. Plans are to open the Mount Laurel campus in early 2018.
The Haddonfield location is being sold to the borough.
