South Jersey Man Accused Of Beating, Threatening Store Clerk With Scissors

SICKLERVILLE, N.J. (CBS) -- A South Jersey man is accused of savagely beating and threatening an employee with scissors during a store robbery.
Raseem McNeil, 21, is facing several charges for his alleged role in the incident that took place at the Sicklerville News store on Williamstown Road Monday night.
According to investigators, McNeil entered the store shortly after 10 p.m. and allegedly began to violently attack an employee working behind the counter.
Police say the suspect savagely beat the clerk in his head and body while threatening him with a pair of scissors.
The employee fought back, causing the suspect to drop the scissors.
The suspect then ran out of the store after taking an unknown amount of cash.
The suspect was later identified as McNeil. He was arrested Tuesday in the Avandale Development.
McNeil was charged with Robbery, Aggravated Assault and Weapons Offenses. He was taken to the Camden County Jail where he is being held on $250,000 cash bail.
The employee suffered minor injuries, which required medical attention.
