Sources: Suspect In Center City Building Collapse May Plead Guilty This Week

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Sources tell CBS 3 Eyewitness News a guilty plea may come as early as Tuesday in the deadly Center City building collapse of 2013.

According to sources close to the case, crane operator Sean Benschop may enter a plea at a hearing Tuesday morning.

The 43-year-old faces multiple counts of Third Degree Murder, which carry a potential life sentence.

Six people died when a brick wall toppled on the roof of a Salvation Army Thrift Store.

Blood tests revealed Benschop had marijuana and prescription narcotics in his system the day of that deadly accident.

Because of a gag order, neither Benschop's attorney or prosecutors can comment on this case.
