Some Pa. War Vets Offered 2 New License Plates
By Lynne Adkins
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - There are two new license plates for certain Pennsylvania war veterans.
Pennsylvanians who have served in any military airborne unit, or merchant marines who served in the second World War can choose from new military license plates.
PENNDot spokesman Craig Yetter says the designs are subtle.
"The plates are the standard design plates and on the left hand side for the jump plates they have a representation of jump wings and ladder wings. And for the World War II era merchant marines, the plate is the standard plate designed with the merchant marine flag on the left hand side," Yetter explains.
Each plate costs an extra $20 and you can find out more on the state Driver And Vehicle Services website: www.dmv.state.pa.us.
