YouTube gave itself a mini-makeover

The next time you visit YouTube you may notice a few changes. The Google-owned video-sharing site has revamped its layout and playlists.

"The way you watch YouTube keeps changing, so we're making a few tweaks to YouTube to keep up with you," YouTube Web Developer Yining Zhao wrote in a blog post.

The site will now have a center-aligned look, similar to its mobile apps.

YouTube is also rolling out new playlist management tools, to make it easier to find what you want to watch and collect playlists to watch. Personal playlists now have a better editing screen and the playlists you've created or "liked" of other users are now listed in your guide.

One of the fastest growing apps is facing a lawsuit

Whisper, the social network that lets users post anonymous gossip and confessions, may have violated federal anti spam laws by sending unsolicited text messages.

A Massachusetts man who filed the suit is seeking damages on behalf of himself and everyone else who received the messages under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

WhatsApp founder rejected by Facebook and Twitter in 2009

Facebook sent a shockwave through the tech world when it announced the acquisition of WhatsApp for $19 billion.

It was a huge win for founder Brian Acton, who tweeted about being turned down for jobs by both Twitter and Facebook in 2009 before launching WhatsApp.

WhatsApp allows users to send and receive free SMS and MMS text messages on smartphones, without ads.
